The Strangest Marvel Moment According to Paul Rudd
Jun 17, 2023
In a recent interview, Paul Rudd discussed some of his strangest Marvel movie moments and some hilariously awkward situations he experienced in real life with fans.
Rudd is known for his roles in numerous comedy TV shows and films. He started his Marvel career with the first Ant-Man film in 2015. Since then, he has played the main protagonist in the Ant-Man series and other Marvel films, including Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame, where he helped other Avengers defeat the Marvel antagonist, Thanos. When asked about his strangest Marvel moment, Rudd’s roles in these films left him with many options.
“There’s a moment in this new movie where somebody can read my mind, and he says that I have something like seven holes in my body,” Rudd said in an interview with BBC Radio 1 about his strangest Marvel moment. He continued:

“I don’t know why, and shooting that, I thought, ‘I think he [Scott Lang] would probably stop and count to see if he got it right.’ So there was one take where I am like ‘can I like, let me just try and do the math in my head before I say the line,’ and hoping that people are getting what it is that I’m doing, because I think that’s what everyone would do.”
Rudd was talking about a scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, his most recent Marvel film, where Scott Lang (Ant-Man) meets some of the Freedom Fighters, who are locals of the Quantum Realm, and a red creature called Veb, asks Lang how many holes he has, to which another Freedom Fighter who can read minds, Quaz, confirms that Lang has seven holes. The holes joke continues throughout the movie, primarily through Veb, obsessed with human anatomy.

Ant-Man Characters: Who Came Back and Who Didn’t

Many of the characters from the first two Ant-Man films did not appear in Ant-Man 3, and that is because it majorly takes place in the Quantum Realm. However, not all characters that fans didn’t see in the new film weren’t really there.
Veb, the creature behind Rudd’s strangest scene, is voiced by David Dastmalchian, who also plays Kurt in the first two films, a member of Scott Lang’s thieving crew. However, the other members of his crew did not appear in the latest film. For example, Michael Peña, who plays Luis, is the best friend and former cellmate of Scott Lang. And although Luis played a big part in bringing the comedy to Ant-Man and the sequel, there wasn’t a place for him in Quantumania, most likely because of its setting in the Quantum Realm and its introduction to new characters like Kang the Conquerer as the new enemy. Another character who did not appear in the new Ant-Man movie is rapper T.I., who played the role of Dave in the first two movies, as the actor faced allegations of sexual abuse and drugging.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been in theaters since Feb. 17 and will arrive at Disney+ on Jul. 8.
