If Prime Videos subscribers thought “The Boys” was raunchy and messed up, wait ’til you see what “Gen V” has in store for audiences. The streamer released a new red-band trailer for the spinoff series today and, as one character alleges at its end, this show is going to be “f*cked up.”

How “f*cked up”? Well, “Gen V” takes place in “The Boys” universe, at Godolkin University, a college set up exclusively for students with superpowers to train and become heroes. But there’s some secret shady stuff going on behind the scenes at Godolkin that includes mysterious woods, murderous puppets, some kind of brainwashing program, and who knows what else…
Here’s an official synopsis for “Gen V,” courtesy of Prime Video:
Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes. Beyond the typical college chaos of finding oneself and partying, these kids are facing explosive situations … literally.
“Gen V” stars Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Asa Germann. Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert and Jason Ritter round out the main cast. The spinoff also features guest appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and P.J. Byrne, who reprise their roles from “The Boys.”
Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serves as showrunners and executive producers on “Gen V.” Other executive producers include “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Morris, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craigh Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr. Brant Engelstein also serves as co-executive producer. Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios produce the series along with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
So, while fans await Season 4 of “The Boys” (currently in production), here’s “Gen V” a spinoff that’s arguably raunchier, hornier, and more ludicrous than the original series. Oh, and there’s “The Boys Presents: Diabolical,” an animated spinoff to the original series, too; that premiered last year. But “Gen V” premieres on Prime Video on September 29. Watch the red-band trailer for the spinoff series below.
