What happens after humanity discovers monsters? The Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” follows the events after legendary creature Godzilla and the Titans wreak havoc. A city destroyed, many are searching for answers; two siblings begin unraveling what’s really behind Monarch — an organization whose motives remain mysterious. This project represents yet another chapter in Legendary Entertainment’s Monsterverse, the expansive universe includes a host of famous monsters such as King Kong and Godzilla.

The project showcases a famous family as Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell lead the cast; this well known father and son portray Army Officer Lee Shaw at various points in the character’s life. Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski also star.

Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.
Matt Shakman directs the first two episodes of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.” The Apple TV+ ten-episode series debuts its first two episodes November 17, weekly episodes premiere every Friday through January 12. Get your first look at the trailer below.
