Isla Fisher & Josh Gad Return To Their Werewolf Romantic Dramedy Oct 19

Sep 27, 2023

Everyone brings their own set of baggage to a new relationship, but in Peacock’s high-concept, genre-bending series “Wolf Like Me,” the baggage is pretty extraordinarily complicated. And given the tone—comedy, but also real drama, looking at emotional trauma and psychological scars like that— it’s a tricky thing to pull off. In “Wolf Like Me,” Josh Gad plays a grieving father and an emotional wreck, struggling to provide for his daughter since the death of his wife. And when he randomly meets the woman Mary (Isla Fisher) in a fated incident, the initial romantic bond they forge gets complicated when she begins to hold on to secrets she can’t share with anyone. Yes, she’s also a werewolf; apparently, the universe brought these two together for a reason.

That’s the overall gist of ‘Wolf Like Me,” created, written, and directed by Aussie filmmaker Abe Forsythe, known for the Sundance Midnight Madness film, “Little Monsters,” and the Australian black comedy, “Down Under.”
Season two of “Wolf Like Me” continues in October, and this season, the cast includes Edgar Ramirez, Ariel Donoghue, Emma Lung, Anthony Taufa, and Honour Latukefu.
Set for an October 19 premiere on Peacock for a seven-episode run. What happens in season two? Well, Forsythe explained in a statement that you can expect the unexpected. “Season one was a testament to the mysterious forces of the universe bringing Mary, Gary, and Emma together,” he said. “As we delve into season two, we ask a new question: Is the universe now conspiring to pull them apart?”
Here’s the official season two announcement.
In the second season of Wolf Like Me, Mary (Isla Fisher) and Gary (Josh Gad) leap into the next phase of their relationship, facing their biggest challenge yet: pregnancy. As much as the two try to have a “normal” pregnancy, it seems impossible, with so many questions looming over them. Will their child be a human or a wolf? Just how long can they keep things secret from the rest of their family? Will what happened in the outback come back to haunt them? And, with Mary’s former professor, Anton (Edgar Ramirez), suddenly in the picture, new secrets from Mary’s past are revealed, can their relationship withstand newly unearthed secrets from Mary’s past?
All episodes of season two will be available on October 19 on Peacock, so you can burn right through it in a binge if you like. Watch the new trailer below.
