“The Crown” is known for switching its casts every few seasons in order to chronicle each member of the Monarch aging over the years. And the new teaser for Season 6 showcases that by highlighting the trio of ladies who have starred in the lead role, as Queen Elizabeth II. Obviously, this upcoming season brings us ever closer to the modern day, though we don’t know exactly how far “The Crown” will go, but we have to assume it’ll at least end with a mention of Elizabeth’s death earlier this year.
The cast of “The Crown” Season 6 includes Imelda Staunton (“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix“) as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce (“The Two Popes“) as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville (“Phantom Thread“) as Princess Margaret, Elizabeth Debicki (“Tenet“) as Princess Diana of Wales, Dominic West (“The Wire“) as Princes Charles, Olivia Williams (“The Ghost Writer“) as Camilla Parker Bowles, and Jonny Lee Miller (“Elementary“) as John Major.
Take a look at the official summary for “The Crown” Season 6 below:
The 6th and final season covers events from 1997 through 2005. The first four episodes (Part 1) depict a relationship blossoming between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences.
The final chapter (Part 2) is told across six episodes. Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion. As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairytale in William and Kate.
“The Crown” Season 6 will arrive later this fall, with Part 1 hitting on November 16, followed by Part 2 on December 14. Check out the teaser below.
