Charlie Brown & The Peanuts Gang Undergo a Ghastly Fan Art Transformation Just in Time to Celebrate Halloween

Nov 7, 2023

Summary

Charlie Brown and his dog Snoopy have been transformed into zombie-like monsters in the new fan art, with Chuck resembling a serial killer and Snoopy appearing menacing. Lucy and Linus, two beloved Peanuts characters, experience terrifying transformations in the fan art, with Lucy holding a bloody box like the football she always pulls away from Chuck. The fan art departs from the cheerful, animated versions of the characters seen in the Halloween special, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, which can be seen on Apple TV+.

If Lucy knows what’s good for her, she’ll let Charlie Brown kick that football this year. The Peanuts gang came to life for the very first time in the pages of the 1950’s comic strip called Good ol’ Charlie Brown. The heart-warming artwork and stories were the brainchild of the late Charles M. Schulz, but he couldn’t have ever envisioned how his beloved characters were mutated into a batch of ghastly monsters in this new fan art. Check out Charlie Brown and his dog Snoopy’s zombie-like transformations (below), which were posted to Instagram by @mrrevenge:

Chuck looks more like a bright-eyed serial killer who is sporting Michael Myer’s weapon of choice. In the meantime, Snoopy is anything but himself, as his canary yellow pal Woodstock — who has also been altered — appears to be the beagle’s next meal! And then there’s what the fan art did to siblings Lucy and Linus. Check out their equally terrifying transformations below:

Lucy isn’t the nicest of the Peanuts gang anyway, but it’s so eerie how she holds that bloody box like the football Charlie Brown always tries to kick. She always pulls the pigskin away in the comics and television specials, and Chuck constantly ends up flat on his back. And Linus is absolutely chilling! The kind-hearted kid who always waits up all night every Halloween in the pumpkin patch still holds his trusty blanket, but now it’s bloodied. Hopefully, that’s not the Great Pumpkin’s ichor that has been spilled.

The Peanuts Gang is Zombified in Fan Art

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and Lucy are all transformed into zombie-esque monsters surrounded by pools of blood in some stunning pieces of fan art. It’s quite a departure from how they all appear in animation. In the new artwork, the four characters are nothing like themselves when it comes to celebrating Halloween in the beloved television special titled It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

16 years after the Good ‘ol Charlie Brown comic strip debuted on October 2, 1950, writer Charles M. Schulz penned the Peanuts gang’s Halloween special. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown first aired on October 27, 1966, and it certainly didn’t feature any fiendish, zombified versions of Chuck, Snoopy, Linus or Lucy. The TV show revolves around a Halloween party, which Charlie Brown was actually invited to — but by accident.

As most of the Peanuts characters spend the night trick-or-treating and partying, Linus convinces Sally to wait up all night with him in the pumpkin patch. Naturally, the Great Pumpkin never arrives with all the presents Linus insisted he would bring, and Sally is so angry! She proceeds to call Linus a “block head” before she departs, and Lucy eventually has to retrieve her brother from his slumber in the unforgiving cold of the lonely pumpkin patch.

You won’t find any zombified versions of the Peanuts gang wielding butcher’s knives in the actual Halloween special, but It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is on Apple TV+. It’s a must-see for those who love to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve, and the television show was even nominated for two Emmy awards in 1967: Outstanding Children’s Program and Special Classifications of Individual Achievements.
