The Marvels Gets Action-Packed New Clip

Dec 14, 2023

Summary

Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Captain Monica Rambeau team up in the upcoming MCU sequel, The Marvels. The film explores Carol Danvers’ journey after her revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, as she deals with the unintended consequences of a destabilized universe. The Marvels will have direct connections to the upcoming Avengers sequels and promises a unique and wacky experience.

Teamwork is the strategy of the day in this action-packed clip from the upcoming Marvel sequel, The Marvels. Beginning with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, the newly released footage finds the central trio of Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel throwing down with Kree soldiers as they mysteriously swap places each time they use their respective powers. You can check out the new clip from The Marvels below:

The Marvels is all set for release next week on November 10, and sees Candyman director Nia DaCosta join the MCU. An experience that the filmmaker was surprised by; “I realized it wasn’t ever gonna be about how much power I amassed or how many great movies I made, or if I won awards, it was always just going to be the people that I surrounded myself with. The thing that I’ve been most surprised by lately is how much respect I’m getting from these middle-aged white dudes that I work with.”

An epic new trailer and poster have been released for this year’s MCU sequel, The Marvels, with both teasing the IMAX release of the Marvel movie. Led by Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, The Marvels is all set for release on November 10, 2023, where it will have access to IMAX screens for several weeks. Check out the new teaser trailer and poster below.

Directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay she co-wrote with Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik, The Marvels stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Zawe Ashton as the Kree warrior Dar-Benn, and Samuel L. Jackson, who reprises his role as Nick Fury.

Other MCU stars such as Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur will reprise their respective roles from Ms. Marvel, with Lashana Lynch, Park Seo-joon, Randall Park, Shamier Anderson, Abraham Popoola, Ffion Jolly, Caroline Simonnet, and Jessica Zhou also set to feature.

“In Marvel Studios’ The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence,” the official synopsis for The Marvels reads. “But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up to learn to work in concert to save the universe as ‘The Marvels.'”

Related MCU’s The Marvels: What We Hope To See In the Upcoming Film Contrary to popular belief, The Marvels is much more than a superhero crossover. Here’s what we hope to see in the movie.

The Marvels Will Have Direct Connections to the Upcoming Avengers Sequels
The Marvels Release Date November 10, 2023 Director Nia DaCosta Writers Gene Colan , Roy Thomas Franchise Marvel

The 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Marvels comes as part of Phase Five of the franchise, with director Nia DaCosta and producer Mary Livanos revealing that the Captain Marvel sequel will have a direct connection with the next phase’s Avengers outings, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. And it’s all to do with the bangles.

“You’ll get enough of the story of how and why Dar-Benn has acquired the bangle,” DaCosta said, with Livanos adding that the fact the bangles can “force a temporary hole in space and time to lead to somewhere else” has something to do with it.

Aside from that, DaCosta has promised that The Marvels will be unlike anything seen in the MCU before. “I think superhero fatigue absolutely exists. The biggest difference from the other MCU movies to date is that it’s really wacky, and silly,” she said earlier this month. “The worlds we go to in this movie are worlds unlike others you’ve seen in the MCU. Bright worlds that you haven’t seen before.”

The Marvels is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 10, 2023, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. Alongside the new clip, you can also check out the trailer for The Marvels below:
