‘The Regime,’ ‘Palm Royale,’ ‘3 Body Problem’ & More

We’re in the thick of it again, with many must-watch television series hitting our screens in March. While things have been relatively quiet in terms of releases, with a few notable exceptions, March is coming in strong. From highly-anticipated series getting their premier at SXSW to major dramas with considerable A-List talent, there’s an abundance of genres and worlds to immerse yourselves in. From series led by everyone from Kate Winslet to Kristin Wiig to Ewan McGregor and Theo James to the return to a 1990s animated favorite, here’s everything worth checking out this March.

“The Regime” 
A political satire from Will Tracy (a “Succession” writer and the screenwriter of “The Menu”), the limited series depicts a year within the palace of a crumbling authoritarian regime. But it’s all about the spectacular cast led by Kate Winslet, the chancellor of a fictional Central European autocracy who finds her position threatened by domestic turmoil. Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, Martha Plimpton, Guillaume Gallienne, and Hugh Grant. Stephen Frears and Jessica Hobbs direct. (read our r view)

“The Gentlemen”
A series spin-off of filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s 2019 crime comedy of the same name, “The Gentlemen” (2024), centers on Eddie Halstead (Theo James), an aristocrat who has inherited a large estate from his father, but he learns that the land has become part of the aforementioned weed empire. Kaya Scodel rio, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Giancarlo Esposito, Peter Serafinowicz, Vinnie Jones and Ray Winstone co-star. (read our r view)

“Apple Never Falls”
Yet another Liane Moriarty novel is getting the adaptation treatment following the series “Big Little Lies” and “Nine Perfect Strangers.” Recent Oscar -nominee Annette Benning stars alongside Sam Neill, Alison Brie, and Jake Lacy in this mystery drama for Peacock. The series ollows the Delaney family who are thrown into emotional turmoil after the matriarch goes missing. Her four children are left to piece everything together about who they believed their parents were. 
Premiere Date: March 14 on Peacock.
“The Girls on the Bus”
Melissa Benoist stars in the upcoming political drama series for HBO, “The Girls on the Bus.” Co-created by Amy Chozick and Julie Plec, the series is inspired by Chozick’s memoir from 2018, Chasing Hillary. The series follows four female journalists as they trek all over the country to report on presidential candidates. In the interim, they develop relationships — platonic and otherwise — and find themselves immersed in scandal. Natasha Beh am, Christina Elmore, Brandon Scott, and Carla Gugino star. 
Premiere Date: March 14 on HBO Max.
“Girls5Eva”
Originally dropped by Peacock after two seasons, the comedy series “Girls5Eva” has found renewed life with a third season on Netflix. Sara Bareil es, Busy Philips, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry star as the once famous and now famous again girl group of the 90s. The series tracks their unexpected comeback decades after the success of their one-hit wonder. Season two saw the group embarking on their own tour and season three picks up where they last left off.
Premiere Date: March 14 on Netflix.
