Black Adam will do battle with the Justice Society of America in his big screen debut.
Warner Bros. Pictures
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson brawls with the Justice Society of America in the latest footage from Black Adam. Released courtesy of DC Film News Media, this latest TV Spot from the DC outing finds the JSA attempting to take down the newly emerged and hugely powerful Black Adam. A task that does not go too well for them. You can check out the latest TV Spot for Black Adam below.
“There’s no one on this planet that can stop me,” declares Black Adam in the footage. A declaration that he will surely prove. The newly released spot offers a few glimpses of new footage of the Justice Society of America, a superhero team led by Hawkman, played by Hidden Figures and One Night in Miami… star Aldis Hodge. “The kind of justice you dish out can darken your soul,” Hawkman warns Black Adam…before finding out that the antihero does not really care for such advice.
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Aldis Hodge will lead the JSA as Carter Hall, AKA Hawkman, an archaeologist who discovers that he is the reincarnation of an Egyptian prince. Hawkman has the power of flight from his stunning metal wings, and is a great and proficient warrior. James Bond star Pierce Brosnan joins him as Kent Nelson AKA Doctor Fate. Taught the ways of sorcery and given the magical Helmet of Fate, Brosnan has described the character as “the elder of the group,” adding, “I’m assured he’s one of the oldest characters in the pantheon of comic-book characters. He’s an archaeologist.”
Black Adam will see the JSA re-emerge after several decades, with Hawkman and Doctor Fate recruiting some new recruits in the form of Euphoria star Quintessa Swindell’s Maxine Hunkel AKA Cyclone, the granddaughter of former hero Red Tornado, who can control wind and generate sound, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo, who stars in Black Adam as Albert “Al” Rothstein, AKA Atom Smasher, who can control his molecular structure and manipulate his size and strength.
Black Adam Will Hit Screens Next Month
Warner Bros. Pictures
After many, many years of waiting, Dwayne Johnson will finally make his debut as Black Adam next month. After nearly five thousand years of imprisonment, Black Adam, an antihero from the ancient city of Kahndaq, is unleashed into modern times. His brute tactics and way of justice attract the attention of the Justice Society of America, who tries to stop his rampage, teach him how to be a hero more than a villain, and must team up to stop a force more powerful than Adam himself.
“I am 100% committed to not only Black Adam but then expanding the Black Adam universe, the DC universe,” Johnson said, teasing his plans for Black Adam and his place in the DC universe. “I hear the fans, we all do, and I pick up everything they’re putting down. It doesn’t get by me, it doesn’t get by these guys [producer Hiram Garcia, producer Beau Flynn, director Jaume Collet-Serra]. This is the beginning, hopefully, fingers crossed, of a very long storytelling road that Black Adam is the anchoring jet fuel now that will then push and press this universe out.”
Black Adam is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 21, 2022, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
