Jan 14, 2023

The latest poster and TV spot for the upcoming Marvel sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever give us another glimpse at the new Black Panther. And perhaps provide further clues as to who will be chosen to take up the mantle. Released courtesy of Marvel Studios, the poster pays tribute to T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman, with the columns depicted marked with a eulogy in the inscriptions. Check out the new poster below.

The newly released TV spot (via Rotten Tomatoes) meanwhile offers another look at the new Black Panther in action, with the footage centering on the coming war between the nation of Wakanda and the underwater civilization Talocan, led by Namor the Submariner (Tenoch Huerta).
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“In Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba) fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death,” the official Black Panther: Wakanda Forever synopsis reads. “As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livinalli. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, opens in U.S. theaters Nov. 11, 2022.”

Early Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Have Praised the Sequel’s Power & Poignancy

Marvel Studios

The first reactions to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have now made their way online. And they have been nothing short of glowing. “Black Panther: #WakandaForever is Marvel’s most poignant and powerful film to date,” said one early reaction. “It’s heavy and dark in the way that it needed to be, and mostly abandons the studio’s trademark tone. The craft work levels up in every conceivable way, and the performances rise to the occasion.

“Black Panther: #WakandaForever is as epic as Marvel sequels get,” adds another early reaction. “The story is hugely ambitious & thematically rewarding with gut-wrenching twists and turns throughout. You feel the length but it’s fun, wildly beautiful and has the best credits scene in Marvel history, no contest.”

“#WakandaForever is fantastic!” says another. “Coogler delivers a soulful, wondrous sequel that packs an emotional punch & effectively explores relevant world themes. A beautiful tribute to Boseman’s legacy. Letitia & Tenoch are great, & the mid-credits scene is really moving.”

Directed by Ryan Coogler, who has co-written the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stars Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams aka Ironheart, Michaela Coel as Aneka, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, and Angela Bassett as Ramonda. Additionally, the rest of the supporting cast will include Isaach de Bankolé, Dorothy Steel, Danny Sapani, Mabel Cadena, Alex Livinalli, Kamaru Usman, and Richard Schiff.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 11, 2022, as the final film in Phase Four of the MCU.
