
New Peacock Docuseries Takes You Behind The Scenes Of ‘SNL’

It’s crazy to think we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of “Saturday Night Live” this year. That’s a massive accomplishment. And to help with the celebration is a new docuseries on Peacock, “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night,” devoted to the show.

As seen in the new trailer for “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night,” we get a peek at what the docuseries has in store for us. Interestingly, this isn’t just a straightforward doc about the creation of the show and some of the biggest names to appear. Instead, each episode is its own little thing. There’s an episode about the audition process. One about the writers. Another about the famous “More Cowbell” sketch. And finally, the last episode is about Season 11, the most infamous season of the series.

“SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night” debuts on Peacock on January 16. You can watch the trailer below.

SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night is a four-part docuseries honoring the legacy of SNL, with over 60 contributors, including SNL alumni, and covering decades of SNL history. Spotlighting some of the show’s most iconic elements, each episode delves into the rich history of SNL and pulls back the curtain on the audition process, the writers’ room, the fan favorite “More Cowbell” sketch and the pivotal Season 11.
