Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio & Jon Bernthal Reprise Their Marvel Roles In March

Jan 15, 2025

From the ashes of a believed-to-be deceased Netflix series, the resurrected, “Daredevil: Born Again,” is an aptly named series. And yes, it’s the title of a classic Daredevil story from the comics, but it works on multiple levels, including this revived and revamped series.
“Daredevil: Born Again” was initially conceived as a sort of continuation of the Netflix “Daredevil” series, cherry-picking some elements of the original show—some actors returning, recasting others, and cutting some popular characters from the previous show entirely. But in the summer of 2023, after a rethink of the show that hit the reset button, the series became more of a direct sequel.

At this point, “Daredevil: Born Again” is nearly the same show, or at least an undeviating follow-up from the previous series, which Marvel has essentially said is now canon (including all the other Netflix shows suggesting that some of those actors could return as the same heroes).
The series once again stars Charlie Cox as Daredevil/Matt Murdock (who first appeared in the MCU briefly in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”), Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin (first introduced in “Hawkeye” and then turned up again in “Echo”), and Jon Bernthal reprising his role as The Punisher from the Netflix days.
Additionally, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, and Ayelet Zurer all return as the same characters from the “Daredevil” Netflix series. Newcomers to the cast include Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, and Jeremy Earl.

In the summer of 2023, when on break from the series due to the actor’s and writer’s strikes, “Daredevil: Born Again” underwent a major creative overhaul. Many of the original showrunners and writers were let go, and the show started over, using some of the elements that had already been shot and pivoting them into a new direction.
Dario Scardapane took over as showrunner, and Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, already known for directing Marvel’s “Moon Knight” and “Loki” season two, took over as lead directors.
“Daredevil: Born Again” is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025. Check out the first trailer below:
