Kelsey Grammer Will Return to the MCU as Beast in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Apr 2, 2025

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday

cast reveal event has confirmed several long-standing rumors of which characters will appear in the upcoming movie. The latest to be added to the list of returning franchise stars is Kelsey Grammer

, who will be once again providing the voice of beloved X-Men character Beast.
Having made his return to the franchise in 2023’s The Marvels, Beast appeared in the post-credits scene of the movie, which took place in an alternate universe that Monica Rambeau found herself sucked into in the climax of the Captain Marvel sequel. Now it looks like that universe will have a part to play in the upcoming Avengers movie as the franchise heads towards the end of the Multiverse Saga.
Kelsey Grammer’s Return Is Huge for the X-Men’s MCU Debut

Kelsey Grammer originally played Hank McCoy in X-Men: The Last Stand, buried under prosthetics and delivering a memorable performance as the blue-furred mutant. When he returned in The Marvels, the character was not the same version seen back in the original X-Men franchise, but a CGI character that was more in line with Beast’s appearance in the animated X-Men ’97 series.
We can expect that this is the version of Beast that will make an appearance in Doomsday, but regardless, Grammer will clearly be delighted to be back voicing the character again. Back in 2023, after making his return to the franchise, Grammer said:

“It is my hope that you will [see him again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to. I’ve always wanted to play him again. I see him as an extraordinary character, a real character of gravitas and importance in our culture. I’m delighted Beast is back and hope he’s back in a real way.”

Exactly what Avengers: Doomsday is going to look like is unknown, but with pretty much every active actor currently on Marvel’s books, this is turning into the biggest and most ambitious project put on screen – and not only by Marvel Studios. Can the Russo brothers manage to pull off the impossible and deliver a bigger movie than Avengers: Endgame? It is hard to doubt that they could.
