First Steps’ Reveals The Thing Inspired Popcorn Bucket

Apr 9, 2025

Fantastic Four: First Steps is poised to be one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters, and every movie fan knows that a big blockbuster needs snacks. Marvel has us covered as the design for First Steps’ popcorn bucket has just been unveiled, although we’re in for a Grimm experience. The popcorn bucket has been modeled after Marvel’s first family’s geologically challenged Ben Grimm, as fans can take their very own The Thing home with them once the credits roll. In the upcoming movie, The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Ben Grimm/The Thing, alongside Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps popcorn bucket was unveiled at this year’s Cinema Con, thanks to @janks.p on TikTok. The video revealed a stall packed with many of the popcorn buckets for upcoming 2025 releases, including the live-action Lilo & Stitch and How to Train Your Dragon adaptations. The video gives us a clear look at First Steps’ popcorn bucket, which follows suit with a lot of recent MCU buckets, depicting the head of one of the heroes. Thankfully, Fantastic Four: First Steps hasn’t taken inspiration from Deadpool & Wolverine’s more adult-oriented bucket. The top of The Thing’s head opens up to the popcorn receptacle, with what appears to be a handle protruding from the back of his head to hold on to.

Paul Walter Hauser Discusses ‘The Luckiest Man in America,’ Playing Chris Farley & ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’

The delightful Paul Walter Hauser discusses his role in the excellent new film ‘The Luckiest Man in America,’ based on a wild true story.

It is unclear if this will be the final version of the bucket that will roll out to select theaters when Fantastic Four: First Steps is released on July 25, 2025. It seems unusual for the design to be revealed this far in advance of the film’s release. However, Cinema Con 2025 has already been filled with some massive surprises, so an early popcorn bucket reveal is the most mundane of the event’s breaking news. There is a chance the movie could get more popcorn buckets closer to its release. Many fans are hoping for a design inspired by the lovable robot HERBIE (voiced by Paul Walter Hauser).
‘Fantastic Four’ Star Claims the Movie Will “Go Down In History!”

Marvel fans have been waiting for over a decade for The Fantastic Four to join the ranks of the MCU. Much like Spider-Man and the X-Men, the beloved super-powered family were locked behind inter-studio contracts and deals. Thankfully, Marvel Studios have retained the rights to The Fantastic Four, and it’s almost time for them to be welcomed into the fray. Marvel Studios are introducing the characters with a bang, as they will face off against none other than Galactus (Ralph Ineson), one of the most powerful villains from the Marvel Comics Universe.
While fans are expecting big things from Fantastic Four: First Steps, Paul Walter Hauser promises that the new movie will be a game-changer for the MCU. “I believe we are the Marvel movie of the year,” Hauser said. While Captain America: Brave New World isn’t a high bar to clear, Thunderbolts*, which releases this May, has the potential to be another hit for the studio. “I believe we are the one to watch. I believe that this will go down in history as one of the ones that started a new tide of successful storytelling for the company.”
