Better Call Saul Team Launches Campaign for Final Shot at Emmy Gold

Apr 13, 2023

AMC and the Better Call Saul team have launched their “For Your Consideration” campaign to get the show a Primetime Emmy Award. Of course, the series is no stranger to the Emmys, having earned 46 nominations over the years. For the first half of its sixth and final season, the show had garnered more noms last year, but once again, the Breaking Bad spinoff ended the night without any gold. The second half of the final season falls into the window of time that makes it eligible for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards as well, and the official social channels for Better Call Saul are promoting the Emmy campaign.

“Don’t just call Saul, vote for him,” reads a tweet shared by the show’s Twitter account, accompanied by images of co-creator Peter Gould joining series stars Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn, and Giancarlo Esposito in Saul Goodman’s office.

Last year’s Emmy ceremony was still notable as it was the first time Seehorn has been nominated for her acting for her role as fan favorite Kim Wexler. She had been consistently snubbed every year, despite delivering Emmy-worthy performances in every season, so even without the win – which ultimately went to Julia Garner for Ozark – the honor of the nomination was still celebrated by both fans and the Better Call Saul team. Some would say Seehorn delivered her best work on the series yet in the final episodes of the show, and we can be sure that many will be crying foul if the actress is not nominated again this year.

Will Better Call Saul Win an Emmy at the Very End?

AMC

Breaking Bad fared a bit better during its run, taking 16 wins at the Primetime Emmy Awards. With so much great television on the air these days, the competition is certainly pretty fierce when it comes to which shows are most deserving to win. Even so, it seems a bit ridiculous that the highly acclaimed Breaking Bad spinoff doesn’t have a single Emmy win after nearly 50 nominations. In any case, we’ll learn this fall if Saul Goodman and Co. manage to grab that deserved Emmy gold.

If you want to stream the final season of Better Call Saul, it’s coming to Netflix in the U.S. on April 18th. We’ll find out if the season gets the show any Emmy gold when the Primetime Emmy Awards go down on September 18th.
