A Young Math Whiz Is Being Hunted Down In Apple TV+ Thriller Series

What if you were too smart for your own good? That’s the question at the heart of Apple TV+’s new series “Prime Target.”

As seen in the trailer, “Prime Target” tells the story of a brilliant young math postgraduate who happens to stumble upon a way to hack into any sort of digital “lock.” As you might expect, people come out of the woodwork to capture him so that they can control the breakthrough. Thankfully, he has at least one person on his side, an NSA agent named Taylah.
The cast includes Leo Woodall, Quintessa Swindell, Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell. The series is created by Steve Thompson, who is probably best known for writing episodes of series such as “Sherlock,” “Doctor Who,” and “Vienna Blood.” 
“Prime Target” is set to debut on Apple TV+ on January 22. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:
“Prime Target” features a brilliant young math postgraduate, Edward Brooks (played by Woodall), who is on the verge of a major breakthrough. If he succeeds in finding a pattern in prime numbers, he will hold the key to every computer in the world. Soon, he begins to realize an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, an NSA agent (played by Swindell) who’s been tasked with watching and reporting on mathematicians’ behavior. Together, they start to unravel the troubling conspiracy Edward is at the heart of.
