Best TV Series Coming to Prime Video in March 2023
Mar 2, 2023
Prime Video keeps expanding its catalog. They had some successes in the streaming wars, The Boys and Invisible are well-beloved by lots of people, but no one can keep a streaming service with just ultra-violent deconstructions of superheroes, no matter how fun they are, most people want more variety with their shows.
There is a variety of shows coming to Prime Video next month. We have some romance, many dramas, and some even sci-fi. It is really refreshing to see many productions from other countries like Germany or Japan in the lineup too. Here is everything you need to check out in March on Prime Video.
Daisy Jones & The Six (March 3)
Prime Video
Based on the book with the same title by Taylor Jenkins Reid, in this miniseries of ten episodes, we follow the success of the band Daisy Jones & The Six during the ’70s. We get to see their struggles and their joys. It is about the creation of music, but also the human cost of it. Art is no longer created for the sake of creation, in the music business, or in any business for a matter of fact. Art is now a way to make money and get power. So, we will see how the band ruined themselves after succeeding, along with some fake interviews after many years from the members of the band when Daisy Jones & The Six hits Prime Video on March 3.

The Pimp – No F***ing Fairytale (March 3)
Prime Studios
The original title of The Pimp – No F***ing Fairytale was Luden. The series is a German production made for Prime Video. This dark and twisted show is about sex working and the exploitation happening to women by men in this job. Audiences discretion is advised. This is not a story that wants to make its audience feel nice. It is dark, and it makes sense that many people can not stomach it. But if viewers can handle it and surpass the language barrier, it is an interesting show about a difficult and dangerous profession that counts many victims every year, without even talking about the social stigma it carries.

Angel Flight (March 17)
Amazon Studios
Another foreign production for Prime Video, this time from Japan. Angel Flight is about a hearse transporter who transports dead people to their families. Ryoko Yunekura, the protagonist of the show, talked about her experience with the series on social media.
“I will be playing a hearse transporter between international borders bringing bodies and mortal remains back to the bereaved families. It is a story of the people who work hard to serve those who pass away while abroad and give the bereaved a chance for a final farewell. The wonderful series will surely fill your heart with warmth after viewing each episode. Angel Flight is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2023. Hope you enjoy the series.”
Class of ‘07 (March 17)
Amazon Studios
A reunion of an all-girls high school turns into a struggle for survival for the women attending it. In Class of ’07, after ten years, the ex-classmates have to survive on the island that is their high school campus after an apocalyptic tidal wave. Emily Browning, Megan Smart, and Caitlin Stacey have the central roles in this show. We are really excited about Browning’s return to our screens. She entered the movie business at a very young age, with 2004’s Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and 2011’s Sucker Punch.
Dom (March 17)
Amazon Studios
Another show with a difficult subject for Prime Video is coming in March. This time, Dom is about drug usage and the way they can destroy lives and families. We follow Victor, a policeman who is fighting against cocaine trafficking, but his son is a drug addict, and his addiction has driven him to become one of the most wanted burglars in Rio de Janeiro. Can a father’s love save his son? Is there a limit to this type of love? Can we solve a problem, when on the one side of the coin is the problem and on the other the solution? We will find out on March 17.
Swarm (March 17)
Prime Video
Swarm is a new series from Donald Glover with a unique premise. We follow a young woman named Dre (Dominique Fishback) who has an obsession with a singer. The series will follow Dre as she takes her love for the singer to new, and sometimes dark, levels. Other cast members include Chloe Bailey as Dre’s sister Marissa and Damson Idris as Dre’s boyfriend.

The series is labeled as a horror thriller, making it very different from Glover’s other series Atlanta, which is a comedy-drama. Fans of Glover’s work can see how the series are different starting March 17.
The Power (March 31)
Amazon Studios
Based on the book with the same title by Naomi Alderman from 2016, The Power is a science fiction story in a world where suddenly teenage girls get the ability to electrocute anyone with a single touch of their hands causing immense pain. Suddenly the power structures of the world change and victims get the power to liberate themselves from their oppressors, on the same time some girls get drunk with power and start using theirs with no concern for the pain their causing. Parents dress their sons in women’s clothes, so they will be safer on the streets. The struggle between sexes changes, but the struggle between classes remains. This is the new world, but it really looks like the old one.
