Colman Domingo Is A News Man Framed For Murder In Netflix’s Upcoming Thriller Series
Nov 14, 2024
Colman Domingo, action star? Believe it or not, that’s what Netflix‘s “The Madness” has in store for subscribers later this month. It’s quite an about-face for the Oscar-nominated actor, but for those who’ve seen Domingo’s turns in “Zola” and “Drive-Away Dolls,” maybe it’s not so surprising?

But those roles were villainous and broadly comedic. “The Madness” is a classic “wrong man” narrative with Domingo as the straight man at its center. In the upcoming eight-episode series, the actor stars as Muncie Daniels, a media pundit in a post-truth world who finds himself the sole witness to the murder of a white supremacist, and he’s soon implicated for the crime. To clear his name, Muncie will need to unravel a global conspiracy, reconnect with estranged family, and use the most unlikely allies for help.
So “The Wrong Man” in the disinformation age? Sounds great. But Domingo has an equally great cast alongside him for the limited series. Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, Tamsin Topolski, and Thaddeus J. Mixson also star as main cast in the show. Guest stars include Dean Cole, Alison Wright, Ennis Esmer, and Hamish Allan-Headley, with John Ortiz, Bradley Whitford, and Stephen McKinley Henderson rounding out the main cast.
Stephen Belber creates “The Madness” for Netflix, and serves a co-showrunner with VJ Boyd. Executive producers on the series include Peter Chernin, Jeno Topping, Kaitlin Dahill, and Clément Virgo.
“The Madness” hits Netflix on Nov. 28. Watch a trailer for the limited series below.
