Coven of Chaos Episode Count Reportedly Revealed

Home TV News Agatha: Coven of Chaos Episode Count Reportedly Revealed

The return of Kathryn Hahn as WandaVision’s Agatha Harkness will reportedly be one of the longer MCU TV series.

Marvel Studios

Kathryn Hahn will be getting back into the guise of Agatha Harkness in the next few weeks as she begins filming on the Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. New rumors have suggested that the show will one of the more lengthy Marvel offerings to hit Disney+, with a reported episode count of nine, although the episode length has not been mentioned. Many of Marvel’s TV shows have logged in around the six-episode mark, but the recent half-hour She-Hulk episodes pushed that up to nine, which could suggest that Coven of Chaos will also fit the “half-hour comedy” format.

The news was originally shared by The Illuminerdi, and while information on the series focusing on the popular WandaVision villain is scarce, the news does fit with the profile of previous Marvel shows, including WandaVision itself. While some of the more serious storylines around the likes of Loki and Hawkeye logged longer episode lengths and shorter runs, Coven of Chaos is very likely to be pitched slap-bang in the middle of Marvel’s comedy shows, where the time-honored sitcom tradition of 30-minute episodes will likely be observed.

Recently it was revealed that Hahn’s witch would be joined by WandaVision co-star Emma Caulfield Ford, as well as Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, and Maria Dizzia, also part of the cast. Although there has been no official word on what the storyline will entail and how it will fit into the wider MCU, there is one apparent return that many fans are hoping to see in the series – and it isn’t Evan Peters’ Ralph Bohner.

Will Elizabeth Olsen Return as Scarlet Witch?

Disney+

Elizabeth Olsen has teased her Marvel future several times since Wanda Maximoff’s assumed demise in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As we know, there are very few deaths are final in the Marvel story, and a vague, off-screen deaths are even more susceptible to being undone. While it appeared that Wanda killed herself while destroying Wundagore Castle, there are many who believe that she was able to protect herself from being crushed in the debris and will return again to redeem herself.

Although it seems that Agatha: Coven of Chaos could be an ideal place for her to pop up, it is likely that her return would be saved for a more meaningful and dramatic appearance, similar to that of Steve Rogers in Avengers: Infinity War or Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame. While that could mean fans have a few years to wait before they see Olsen reprise her role again, it would be a small price to pay for all of her fans out there.

In the meantime, production on Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to begin this month, and that could mean we get some further hints at what the misguided witch will be getting up to in her new solo adventure. Whether there is a future for her beyond the Disney+ series is unclear, but there is no doubt the character’s popularity will lead to fans demanding more from Agatha in future Marvel phases.
