First Round Of Online Reactions Are Praising The Marvel Revival Series

Feb 25, 2025

Next month fans will see the grand return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock in “Daredevil: Born Again,” the latest Marvel Television series brings back The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen and places the superhero squarely in the mainline MCU (no more confusion for fans). Some folks have already watched the first two episodes of the street-level streaming series and the early buzz is strong with this outing.
Below are some of those posted reactions shared on social media including folks from Fandango, Cinema Blend, Screen Rant, and other outlets:

Marvel’s #DaredevilBornAgain comes out of the gate HOT! Among the strongest starts for a Marvel Studios TV show to date imo – the first two episodes are terrific, setting up a story that is part court procedural and part all-out brawling. There’s a fight in EP 1 that is all done… pic.twitter.com/IauSrCJc2v— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) February 25, 2025
Holy Hell’s Kitchen! #DaredevilBornAgain opens with a lengthy, devastating sequence that screams, “This is just as brutal as Netflix.” From there, the 2 episodes lay out a layered story about cops, vigilantes, and guilt. #DaredevilBornAgain brings my boy back to me. The fight sequences are just as violent as the original show and play with Matt’s morality in such a poignant and beautiful way. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio step effortlessly back into their rivalry. I love having my devil back pic.twitter.com/koFT7g12yS— Rachel Leishman (@RachelLeishman) February 25, 2025

#DaredevilBornAgain REVIEW The show recaptures what made the original series so special but also takes it in a different direction. The tone and grit is authentic to the original show, and the writing never feels too dissimilar. By the sounds of things, fans of the original run of episodes will be happy with what Marvel has done here with the revival.
We know that a second season of the show is already underway, which would suggest that Marvel is putting in quite an investment there and could signal their confidence that fans will support the show beyond that. There have been some musings from Marvel about how they could add other Netflix/”Defenders” era characters into the fold (Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) after there had been online rumblings of their inclusion and the return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher leading to a new Marvel Special Presentation.
The rest of the cast consists of Vincent D’Onofrio as The Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, Wilson Bethel, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, and Jeremy Earl.
An official logline for the show from Marvel reads:
“Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
