Marvel Reveals Full 2025 TV Slate, ‘What…If’? Season 3 Arrives December 2024
Oct 30, 2024
Christmas came early for Marvel fans last night and also, maybe so much for the superhero studio’s claim of scaling back and “less is more?” Yesterday evening, eagle-eyed fans spotted a new “Coming To Disney+” teaser in front of episode one of “Agatha All Along,” that quickly made its way online. And while Marvel has shied away from giving away too much information lately, less announcements at Comic-Con and D23 than expected, the studio really gave up the ghost of its future TV plans.

In the very immediate future for 2024, Marvel revealed two major announcements: “Deadpool & Wolverine” would premiere on Disney+ on November 12 and the third and final season of the animated series, “What… If?” would premiere later this year on December 22. The latter isn’t too much of a surprise, “What… If?” season three teasers were released earlier this year and season two also debuted around the same frame of December 2023.
For 2025, while Bob Iger recently promised that Marvel would scale back and deliver less live-action shows on Disney+ and not oversaturate the market with content, the company revealed six Marvel TV series for 2025, with three of them live-action and three of them animated series.
The first big surprise was the announcement of “Wonder Man” starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Expected sometime in 2026, Marvel Television announced the series would arrive in December of 2025 (you can read our report about the first-look “Wonder Man” footage here).
Already dated for March 4, 2025, Marvel revealed more new footage from “Daredevil: Born Again,” starring Charlie Cox and also finally revealed a release time frame from their long-in-the-works “Ironheart” series that finished filming in 2023. Starring Dominque Thorne and a spin-off from “Wakanda Forever,” the “Ironheart” series will debut June 24, 2025.
Marvel animation fans will be eating well next year soon. On top of “What…If?” Marvel Television announced “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” would arrive January 29, 2025, the limited series, “Eyes Of Wakanda” will debut on August 6 and the long-awaited “Marvel Zombies” mini-series, a spin-off from “What… If?” will arrive in October of 2025.The animation news may not be a huge surprise either as D23 teased all of these series with new footage, new announcements, but didn’t reveal any dates.
Despite Iger’s promise, one has to wonder if Marvel’s backlog forced them to release all these projects in 2025. As mentioned, “Ironheart” was shot ages ago, and the animated series have also been in the works for years.
In the case of “Wonder Man,” it’s worth speculating that getting that series out before the end of 2025 may mean they’re hoping to introduce the character before “Avengers: Doomsday” in May of 2026 so they can use him within that picture without his appearance feeling odd. But who knows. Either way, after a lean 2024 with only one feature film (“Deadpool & Wolverine”), and two live-action series (“Echo,” and “Agatha All Along”), 2025 is going to be stacked for Marvel Studios with three feature films, three live-action TV show and three animated series.
Here’s the full recap of what’s coming below as well as the teaser with new footage revealed last night.
