Meet Saturday Night Live’s 2024 Presidential Election Cast

Nov 4, 2024

Live from New York, it’s the cast of the 2024 election.

When Saturday Night Live returned Sept. 28 for its 50th season, the show kicked off with a political Cold Open sketch spoofing the race to the White House, a long-awaited big reveal to see who would be joining James Austin Johnson as former President Donald Trump and Maya Rudolph as Vice President Kamala Harris on the 30 Rock-set campaign trail.

While Rudolph originated the role of Harris in 2019, by her side for the first time was Jim Gaffigan playing the Democratic candidate’s running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

“What can I say? I got that BDE—big dad energy,” he said in character. “See what I did there? You get it?”

Rudolph’s Harris joked, “I got it. I didn’t want it, but I got it.”

Meanwhile, SNL alum Andy Samberg came home to play the vice president’s husband, Doug Emhoff.
