
New Hulu Promo Spot Teases “Alien: Earth” & More

Hulu‘s live stream of the 97th Academy Awards last night had some stumbles but outside of that a major disruptive technical snafu that understandably angered viewers also used the opportunity to promote a heap of its current and upcoming programming slate on the streaming service. That new spot highlights things from their spring and summer lineup like “Alien: Earth,” “Dying For Sex,” and more.
Coming this summer, “Alien: Earth” hails from creator/showrunner Noah Hawley (“Fargo”) and is expected to focus on events that take place years before the original “Alien.”
Previous footage teased that a xenomorph crashlanding on Earth inside a mysterious ship which sparks the event of the spinoff series that boasts a large cast featuring Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.

“Dying For Sex” is a limited series starring Oscar-winner Michelle Williams (“Manchester By The Sea”), Jenny Slate, Sissy Spacek, Rob Delaney, Kelvin Yu, David Rasche, Jay Duplass, and Esco Jouléy. The dark comedy focuses on a woman with Stage IV breast cancer who leaves her husband to explore her own sexual desires and comes to us from a creative team that includes Kim Rosenstock and Elizabeth Meriwether as co-creators/showrunners with Leslye Headland (“Russian Doll”) executive producing.
The show, coming April 4, has an official logline from Hulu and reads:
After Molly (Williams) receives a diagnosis of Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, she decides to leave her husband, Steve (Duplass), and begins to explore the full breadth and complexity of her sexual desires for the first time in her life. She gets the courage and support to go on this adventure from her best friend Nikki (Slate), who stays by her side until the very end.
In international markets, some FX/Hulu originals are part of Disney+ and Star subscriptions that are combined into a single app.
