Regé-Jean Page Hated Dungeons & Dragons Armor

Regé-Jean Page Hated Dungeons & Dragons Armor

If you went to the movies this weekend, there’s a good chance you caught Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Which means that, along with the rest of the star-studded cast, you witnessed former Bridgerton fave Regé-Jean Page’s turn as Xenk.

So, Regé-Jean wears a full suit of armor at certain points in the movie. No CGI — that’s real steel right there.

And, according to the actor, it was a real pain to wear while filming, too.

During a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 (via Entertainment Weekly), Regé-Jean revealed that wearing the clunky outfit all day was not very pleasant — and that it reminded him of another actor’s similar past dilemma.

Specifically: Robert Downey Jr., who told David Letterman back in 2020 that he avoided wearing the Iron Man suit in later MCU films because of how horrible it was to put it on in the earlier ones.

“I made the Robert Downey Jr. mistake,” Regé-Jean joked during the interview after referring to his garb as the “most uncomfortable” outfit of the entire cast. “Like, filming in armor is not where you want to be.”

What was the problem, exactly? Let Regé-Jean explain: “You’re hot all day. You can’t sit down. The sweat goes nowhere — it just kind of hangs out. It becomes a scuba suit, just with your own juices.”

“It was delicious,” he joked.

Suffice to say, if there’s a sequel, maybe he’ll negotiate a way out of the suit — and into something a little more, uh, comfortable.
