Rogers The Musical Will Bring Hawkeye’s MCU Joke Production to Life as a One-Act Show at Disneyland
Jun 13, 2023
Marvel’s Hawkeye series delivered one of the MCU’s most grounded Disney+ shows, but it also introduced the first look at something no one saw coming – Rogers The Musical. While the tongue-in-cheek musical only made a short appearance in the Jeremy Renner-led series initially, it did make a return as the show’s post-credit scene, when the full version of the song “Save The CIty” received its premiere. Now it looks like fans of the fake musical will be able to see it for real as Rogers The Musical is coming to Disney California Adventure Park as a one-act musical.
Yes, the song and dance tribute to the former Captain America has been on the mind of many MCU fans since Hawkeye debuted in December 2021. While they may not be getting a full-blown Broadway production, a short version is better than no version at all. A few months after a cast performed “Save The City” at Disney’s D23, Disney Parks shared a quick teaser for the production on their Twitter account featuring a certain Agent Carter which can be seen below.

Fan reactions have been mostly positive for the announcement, although some were a little disappointed that the show will only be appearing at the Hyperion in Disney’s California Park and will not be appearing at Walt Disney World in Florida, which many complained has seemingly been forgotten when it comes to new shows and upgrades. However, if Rogers The Musical’s limited run turns out to be a real crowd pleaser, then who knows where it could go next.

Since Avengers: Endgame, there have been many rumors about how both Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark could make a future appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, with both characters seemingly now gone from the MCU for good, could the arrival of Rogers The Musical, even just as a one-act, short run experience be the best way for people to get a Captain America fix.
Of course, it will not be Chris Evans playing the role of Steve Rogers. With that in mind, Movieweb previously speculated on who could play the Cap if by some strange twist of fate Rogers the Musical actually became a fully-fledged stage show. Of course, it is unlikely that any big superstar names are going to be attached to this version, and instead the roles will played by actors from Disney Parks’ substantial cast.
When it comes to fans of Chris Evans’ Captain America, there is not going to be anything that can compare with the real thing, and that is true in the MCU’s movies too. With Anthony Mackie set to make his full MCU debut as the new Cap in Captain America: New World Order, there is a lot of pressure on the actor to step fully into the shoes of Steve Rogers as one of the world’s mightiest heroes.
