The Final Six Episodes Of Peter Morgan’s Series Premiere On Netflix On December 14

Dec 1, 2023

The final season of Netflix‘s “The Crown” comes to a close in two weeks when the final six episodes premiere on the streamer on December 14. Bad news for fans of the series, but maybe the right call in the long run. Critics had mixed reviews on the Part 1 of Season 6, which focused on the tragic death of Princess Diana. But a pivot in dramatic focus may have Peter Morgan‘s series land on its feet.

“The Crown” Season 6 Part Two spans the years of 1997 through 2005 as Prince William and Prince Henry reintegrate into the royal family, Queen Elizabeth reaches her Golden Jubilee, and Princess Margaret suffers a stroke. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Tony Blair starts to take charge politically.
Here’s a truncated logline for “The Crown” Season 6’s final episodes, courtesy of Netflix:
“Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion. As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairy tale in William and Kate.”
“The Crown” Season 6 Part 2 stars Imelda Staunton, Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Dominic West, Olivia Williams, and Bertie Cavell.  Claudia Harrison, Meg Bellamy, Luthur Ford, and Ed McVey also star.
Morgan shares writing duties on all six final episodes of “The Crown” with Jonathan Wilson, Daniel Marc Janes, and Meriel Sheibani-Claire.
