‘The Jinx – Part Two’ Teaser: Andrew Jarecki’s Follow-Up To His Award-Winning True Crime Series Premieres On HBO Next Month

Mar 28, 2024

Nine years ago, “The Jinx” took HBO by storm, receiving rave reviews, five Emmy nods, and winning two, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series. And the show also led to the arrest of its primary subject, Robert Durst, for first-degree murder the day before the premiere of its series finale. It was fitting retribution for Durst, a man arrogant enough to sit down for interviews with a filmmaker who based his 2010 film “All Good Things” on the murders Durst got away with for decades.

“The Jinx” ranks as one of HBO’s most-esteemed true-crime docs, so it only makes sense for Andrew Jarecki to produce a follow-up. And that he has, with “The Jinx – Part Two” premiering on the network and Max next month. The new six-episode season continues Jarecki’s investigation into Durst’s crimes over the past eight years through Durst’s death in prison in January 2022.
Here’s an official synopsis for “The Jinx – Part Two,” courtesy of HBO:
THE JINX – PART TWO is a new six-episode continuation of the groundbreaking Emmy®-winning documentary series “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst,” from Andrew Jarecki, which debuted on HBO in 2015. In Part Two, the filmmakers continue their investigation for the next eight years, uncovering hidden material, Durst’s prison calls, and interviews with witnesses who had not come forward until now.
Jarecki directs the entirety of the new series. He also serves as executive producer with Zac Stuart-Pontier and Kyle Martin. Charlotte Kaufman and Sam Neave co-produce “The Jinx – Part Two” with Richard Hankin and Susan Lazarus.  Sara Rodriguez, Nancy Abraham, and Lisa Heller also serve as executive producers through HBO. “The Jinx- Part Two” is a co-production between HBO Documentary Films and Hit The Ground Running Production.
“The Jinx – Part Two” premieres on HBO and Max on Sunday, April 21. New episodes will premiere weekly through its six-episode run. Watch a teaser for the upcoming series below.
